Liù is an I Ching oracle that lives in your menu bar, always present yet never intrusive, something you can turn to when you need a pause, a moment of reflection, or a different way of seeing what is already happening.

There is a small ritual in it — simple, repeatable, and gradually becoming your own, not a formal ceremony but a quiet gesture you return to over time, creating space where there was none and allowing attention to settle.

It does not try to predict your future or give fixed answers; instead, it reveals patterns, subtle shifts, and underlying dynamics, helping you sense when to act, when to wait, and when to look again.

Some days it feels like guidance, other days like a mirror, and sometimes like a question that stays with you longer than expected, but over time it deepens something quieter — awareness, timing, and a more deliberate way of moving through things.

How It Works

Casting a hexagram begins with a simple act — a small moment of chance, like the traditional casting of coins, where order quietly emerges from randomness.

Six lines are formed one by one, from the bottom up, each either open or closed, yin or yang, creating a structure that reflects the present moment rather than describing it directly.

Sometimes the lines remain still. Sometimes they change, giving rise to a second hexagram — not a replacement, but a continuation, a shift, a glimpse of where things are moving, with changing lines indicated in color.

What appears is not an answer, but a pattern — something to be read, felt, and interpreted in context, not imposed upon it.

There is no need to force meaning. The value comes from attention, from the pause itself, from the way the process slows you down just enough to notice what was already there.
